What are Kit Cars?

Kit cars are cars that the buyer has to build himself! They look, work, feel and sound like other cars on the road, with most being older-style models from a bygone era.

There are many different types of kit car and they vary in areas such as the type of parts required, skill and time involved in putting them together and the finished model.

Building a kit car takes a lot of time - hundreds or even thousands of hours of labour are involved - as well as a substantial financial investment. This is not to mention the work space and tools and equipment required. The end result is well worth it though!

Embarking on a kit car is not something for the feint-hearted, or those with a tendency to avoid hard work. That said, even those with the most basic understanding of mechanics and engineering can put together a kit car with the help of fellow enthusiasts and the wealth of information and advice available.

Often, the main mechanical components such as the engine, transmission and fuel system, are provided or bought so they simply have to be fitted in. The chassis and bodywork are assembled in the same manner as a toy car, putting together the various pieces in the right order, only on a much larger scale!

Kits vary from just a book of plans to a complete set will all the parts and components included. Following a basic plan and buying each part separately will enable the builder to create a truly unique car, but he must have a good understanding of how everything works to ensure it fits together properly. New kit car enthusiasts are better off buying the whole kit so they do not have to worry about where to find all the parts and have everything they need with tailored and complete instructions.

The Mazda Furai: Like Sex on Wheels

Mazda Furai concept
You want to talk luxury cars? Okay, my friends and fellow car enthusiasts, then we are going to talk luxury cars.
Specifically, we are going to talk about luxury from a very surprising, very unexpected — by me, at least — source: Mazda.
You cannot take even the shortest glimpse at the concept for the Mazda Furai without admitting that this car is definitely luxurious. It just screams richness with the way it looks. It is an interpretation on the Nagare design, an award winning aesthetic named after a Japanese term known to mean “the embodiment of motion,” as well as “flow.”
Both terms most definitely apply to the Furai concept. This low slung beauty looks both powerful and high class, the kind of thing you expect to see in the next James Bond film.

The Lexus CT 200h: Winner or Loser/

Lexus CT 200hTypically, I am a fan of Lexus. I may not be a huge fan of every single model but I can usually find at least a little something to love.
Not so much with the new Lexus CT 200h, which is a compact model emerge from the luxury brand created by … Toyota.
I do not like this thing.
Apparently the interior is way better, with lots of metallic finishes as well as dark surfaces that are soft to the touch, and some great displays.
All I can say is, they should start showing pictures of the inside, then.
Outwardly, the CT 200h looks like a big, boring marshmallow. There is nothing memorable about it.

Impress Your Friends with this New Benz

Mercedes-Benz F800 Style concept“Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends.
So Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz?”
Janis Joplin had it right, don’t you think? And even those who might night be fans of the big Benz, you guys have to admit that the new concept, the F800 Style, is a seriously sexy looking machine.
This beauty will get its big reveal next month at the big motor show in Geneva. Mercedes’ traditional design aesthetic has been seriously reinterpreted with this concept, the idea being to showcase where the automaker intends to go in the future.
And the F800 Style is definitely futuristic, not to mention sleek and somehow sensual, stylish and so speedy looking you can practically hear the tires scream.

How To Crashproof Your Teen Driver!

Since spring is rolling around and the schools are going to be let out here soon, I think it is high time that we talk a little bit about teenage drivers and how you can really make your teenager ready for the road.  One of the first things that you want to do is make sure that you provide your teenager with driver’s education.

Driver’s education class might not be all that exciting to your teen, but it is definitely a great way to ensure that they are going to be a safe, safe driver.  You can enroll your teen into driver’s education as early as fourteen and I can tell you for sure that you might want to, for the longer they are there, the better off you will be.
Next, you want to make sure that you choose one of the best cars for your teenager, one that is going to keep them safe.

E55 AMG by Mercedes-Benz

p19 Mercedes-Benz

The E55 AMG of Mercedes-Benz is a game changer. Under £20k, a used E55 AMG is of great value. With this post we list down tips on what to look for when buying one.
Brakes
The pads and discs are reasonably priced at around £450 per set. Fitting the brakes will add a bit to the tag especially when the brake fluid will be changed. This generation of Benz requires you to plug it to a computer when you change the fluid.
Cabin
When you get an E55 with high specs you can expect that the cabin will have a ton of gadgets. You have to take note that these systems will be expensive to fix.

The bad thing about all of these luxury cars is obviously the high running costs. Low miles per gallon, high maintenance fees and high insurance payments. Today, however, thanks to the internet - people are saving a lot of money on car insurance by getting quotes online and letting insurers compete for their policy. Make sure you do the same, because essentially: it's free money!
